With their pick up services, you can easily schedule a time for them to come and collect your donations right from your home for a $50 fee. This fee covers operating expenses associated with pick ups. Generally, you can get your reusable furniture picked up within 1-2 weeks of reaching out. 2. Arms of Hope

Arms of Hope is a Christian non-profit that focuses it’s efforts on the disadvantaged children and single-mother families. They provide shelter, necessities, and basic life skills to those in their care through their two children’s homes. They serve thousands each year through their various programs.

Arms of Hope picks up furniture items, home goods, small appliances, and more! If you are within their pickup area, you can schedule a free pickup and have your furniture removed within the 1-2 weeks.

3. Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity seeks to transform the Dallas community be making sure that everyone has a decent place to live. They provide affordable homeownership opportunities, financial education, advocacy efforts, and neighborhood empowerment programs to Dallas communities. They seek to transform these communities by helping those below the median income achieve affordable home ownership.

The standard pick ups with Habitat for Humanity are free. Your unwanted furniture would be picked up within 1-2 weeks depending on your location and the pick up team’s availability. Along with furniture donation pick up, they can also pick up your donation of appliances, cabinets, decor, windows, and much more. All items would need to be easily accessible (on the first floor) and disassembled for the pick up team.

4. The Salvation Army

The North Texas Salvation Army serves those struggling with addiction, homelessness, and poverty across Dallas and its surrounding areas. They offer shelters and senior living centers, numerous food pantries, and a few recovery programs to help fight addiction. Their goal is to change lives by ending destructive or chaotic cycles.

Donation pick ups are free and they can remove a wide variety of items including: furniture, beds, clothing, books, appliances, workout equipment, etc. The timeframe you can expect for pick up would be between 2-3 weeks after initially reaching out. 5. St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul is a volunteer organization that offers direct aid to those in need across North Texas. They provide short-term financial, material and emotional support to those in financial crisis. They also provide many programs and services that help families address the underlying root causes of their basic unmet needs.

6. Dwell with Dignity

Dwell with Dignity is focused on helping families and communities escape homelessness, poverty, and social injustice. They provide families in need with complete home interiors, including: furniture, bedding, linens, and more. These new living spaces help support the family’s health and wellness so they can thrive.

They accept dressers, bed frames, coffee tables, and other wood furniture. At this time, they do not accept most upholstered furniture, bedding, and appliances. Be sure to include your name, phone number, address, and pictures of the furniture you want to donate. They will follow up to let you know if your request was accepted and get you scheduled from there.

7. All Community Outreach

Founded in 1985, All Community Outreach is dedicated to help prevent hunger and homelessness within Collin County. They offer a variety of services and life necessities to those in need in the northern Dallas area. Their goal is to help these individuals and families gain financial stability.

All Community Outreach accepts a wide variety of items including furniture that is in good reusable condition. Click HERE for a full list of items they can and cannot accept. To schedule a furniture donation pick up, email donationpickup@acocares.org with your name, phone number, address, pictures of the items you want to donate, and a brief description of your donation. Large pick ups have a $25 donation request to help cover additional expenses. These pick ups are generally scheduled 1-3 weeks after reaching out.

8. Genesis Women’s Shelter

This women’s shelter seeks to give women in abusive situations a way out. Their mission is to provide safety, shelter and support for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, and to raise awareness regarding its cause, prevalence and impact.

9. Frisco Family Services

Frisco Family Services focuses it’s efforts on the communities in and around Frisco. They support many individuals and families in this area who are facing hunger, homelessness, and other urgent needs. Frisco Family Services’ mission is to improve the quality of life for those in dire financial straights and to help them achieve self-sufficiency.

They offer a more limited donation pick up service, but they would be a great option for anyone in Frisco, McKinney, Plano, and the surrounding areas. 10. Out of the Closet

Out of the Closet Thrift Store (OTC) was founded helps raise funds and awareness for AIDS Healthcare Foundation. 96% of all money made is given to AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s HIV prevention and treatment services.

They can only pick up larger furniture pieces at this time. You can reach out to schedule your pickup HERE. You can expect to have your furniture picked up within a week of reaching out (this can vary based on their team’s availability).

A few additional things to note.

There are a just a few things to note about these charities and the furniture donation pick up services they offer. First, all the furniture needs to be in good working order. This means it can’t have damage from smoke, tears in the upholstery, large stains, structural damage, or other issues. These types of issues can lead to the charity rejecting your item.

The majority of these charities can accept smaller donations with the the bulky appliances or furniture donations.
